Agnes Simkens is experienced in playing with many different groups that specialize in historical performance, as well as traditional in the USA and Europe. She is a co-founder of Biber Baroque, and has performed with La Fiocco, Rebel, Opera Lafayette, American Classical Orchestra, Princeton Symphony, among others. She earned her Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the University of Houston, Moores School of Music, with a specialization in historical performance. She holds a Master of Music degree from the Yale University School of Music. Her teachers include Erick Friedman and Emanuel Borok. Besides her performing activities, Agnes Simkens has a truly passion for teaching, and is strongly driven to share her knowledge and experiences with her students.
